Depending on your skin and the strength of the peel chosen, the peel may feel tingly on the skin or mimic a slight burning sensation. This feeling will subside within 1-2 hours post treatment. This does vary per patient and what their own tolerance is.
Each patient may differ and the peel strength does affect downtime. Generally with the 2 Skincueticals Chemical Peels we carry, we can estimate patients have minor peeling or sensitivity for 1-3 days. Continued SPF usage and avoiding excess sun exposure is vital to ensure best results.
While a single treatment can help minimize visible signs of aging, the natural aging process resumes once the skin has healed. To maintain and enhance results over time, a consistent daily skincare routine along with regular peel treatments is recommended.
Depending on your skin concerns, we may recommend a series that is spread out. One treatment is better than none to help with skin rejuvenation, but on average we recommend patient 2-3 peels and continued at home skincare upkeep to see the best results!
