To help Sculptra distribute evenly and prevent lumps or nodules, follow this simple 5-5-5 rule:

  • You can break up the 5 minutes throughout the day if needed.
  • Circular motions or kneading techniques work well.

  • Do not engage in strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, or high-impact activities for 24-48 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid excessive heat exposure (hot tubs, saunas, tanning beds) for 48 hours.
  • No alcohol or blood thinners (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) for 24 hours, unless medically necessary.
  • Refrain from sitting for prolonged periods immediately after injection if possible (e.g., long car rides) for the first 24 hours.

3. Avoid Heat and Intense Activity

  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, or vigorous exercise for 24–48 hours.

4. No Makeup for 12–24 Hours

  • Refrain from applying makeup until the next day to reduce the risk of irritation or infection.

5. Avoid Alcohol and Blood Thinners

  • Avoid alcohol and non-essential blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin or ibuprofen) for 24 hours to reduce the risk of bruising.
