Overview

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is an advanced regenerative treatment that uses your body's own blood to naturally stimulate healing, collagen production, and tissue regeneration. What to Expect

  Recommended Treatment Series:

Pre-Treatment Care

• Drink plenty of water for 24–48 hours before your appointment.
• Eat a healthy meal before arriving.
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin unless prescribed) for 5–7 days before treatment, if approved by your physician.
• Avoid smoking whenever possible before treatment.
• Inform your provider about all medications, supplements, medical conditions, and previous cosmetic treatments.
• Arrive with clean skin or scalp free of makeup, sunscreen, lotions, or hair products.

Aftercare

• Avoid touching or massaging treated areas for 24 hours.
• Do not wear makeup until the following day if the face was treated.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sweating, saunas, hot tubs, and prolonged sun exposure for 24–48 hours.
• Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and active skincare ingredients for 3–5 days.
• Use gentle skincare and sunscreen daily.
• If the scalp was treated, avoid washing your hair for 12–24 hours.
• Mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness is expected and usually resolves within several days.

Contraindications

PRF may not be appropriate for patients who:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have active infection at the treatment site
• Have blood or platelet disorders
• Have severe anemia
• Are currently undergoing chemotherapy or have certain active cancers
• Have uncontrolled autoimmune disease (provider discretion)
• Take medications that significantly impair platelet function
• Have unrealistic expectations regarding treatment outcomes
