Overview

The lip flip subtly enhances the upper lip by relaxing the muscles around the mouth. This causes the upper lip to gently roll outward, creating the appearance of a fuller, more defined lip without adding volume.

What to Expect

• Treatment Duration: 5–10 minutes
• Sensation: Small pinches above the upper lip; no numbing required
• Initial Reactions: Minimal redness or swelling, usually gone within an hour
• Visible Changes: Begin to show around day 3–5; full effect by 14 days
• Duration: Typically lasts 6–8 weeks (shorter than filler)

Pre-Treatment Care

• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners for 24–48 hours
• Skip exfoliants or active skincare (like retinols) around the lips for 48 hours
• Let your provider know if you've had recent lip filler or oral surgery
• Stay well-hydrated and arrive makeup-free

Aftercare

• Refrain from puckering, sipping through straws, or applying pressure to the area for 24 hours
• Avoid kissing, smoking, or facial massage
• No intense workouts, hot environments, or makeup for the first 24 hours
• Use a straw cautiously for a few days if necessary
• Expect minor tightness or slight difficulty with puckering or speaking for a few days

Contraindications

Not recommended for individuals who:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have a history of mouth muscle disorders or nerve conditions
• Experience frequent cold sores
• Are allergic to botulinum toxin or ingredients in the formulation
• Have received recent dental work, filler, or oral surgery in the last 2 weeks

Additional Notes

• A lip flip is ideal for subtle enhancement—not volume
• Great add-on to lip filler for extra lift and pout
• Since it wears off quicker, maintenance may be needed every 2–3 months
